Clovis Youth Employment Services -YES!
On July 1st, 2003, the City of Clovis received a grant to provide year-round youth services to eligible youth in the Clovis Area. The program, Clovis Youth Employment Services (Clovis YES!), is funded under the federal Workforce Investment Act (WIA). The purpose of the program is to promote and improve employment, job retention, earnings, and occupational skills improvement by participants. This, in turn, improves the quality of the workforce, reduces welfare dependency, and improves the productivity and competitiveness in the area.
Service Area
Clovis Y.E.S! is present on all Clovis Unified School District high school campuses: Clovis High School, Clovis East High School, Clovis West High School, Buchanan High School, Gateway High School, and Clovis Adult School.
Job placement services are a very important part of our program. Regardless of their barriers to employment, our participants are anxious to work. Paid work experience and limited internships are arranged to provide job training and experience to our clients. On going supervision by on site employers and case managers help the participants become successful employees able to seek unsubsidized employment. Individual educational services are available to all our participants based on their need. Our goal is to help the participant determine their educational plans and to provide the necessary support so that they may pursue those plans. In this manner we help them become productive members of our community.
