Clovis Police Compete in 120-Mile “Baker to Vegas” Race This Weekend

Clovis Police will be joining hundreds of other law enforcement from all over the nation to compete in the 33rd annual Baker to Vegas Run this weekend. This is the second year that CPD has organized a team of 23 runners and 29 support personnel to run against 269 other teams through the desert. Our inaugural team started CPD’s tradition off great by placing 13th in their division and 116 overall in what’s been deemed the “largest police foot pursuit in the world!”

Baker to Vegas was organized by the Los Angeles Police Revolver and Athletic Club just 14 teams in 1985 and promotes “teamwork, camaraderie, physical fitness and competition” according to their website.  Law enforcement personnel from all over the United States begin their race near Baker, California, and end 120 miles away near the Las Vegas strip over the course of less than a day!

All runners and support staff participate on their own time while representing Clovis! We wish all participants the best of luck and good weather during their run! Stay tuned to our social media accounts for updates over the weekend!
