Man Robs WestAmerica Bank in Clovis this Afternoon
Clovis Police received a silent hold-up alarm call for a robbery at the WestAmerica Bank branch at 536 Shaw Avenue (southwest corner of Shaw and Clovis) at 3:40 this afternoon. A bank employee told officers that a man showed a note demanding money. The employee gave the man an undisclosed amount of cash, and he left. No one saw a weapon and no one was hurt. Witnesses saw the suspect walk east toward Clovis Avenue.
Clovis Police combed area businesses looking for the suspect, but to no avail. The suspect is described as Caucasian, 5’10”, 200-plus pounds, mid-50s with salt and pepper hair and a possible moustache. Witnesses say he was wearing a green and tan camouflage hat, prescription style glasses, a gray/brown flannel jacket and blue jeans.
