On May 21, 2018 just after 2:00 A.M., members of the Fresno Help Eliminate Auto Theft (H.E.A.T.) Task Force consisting of a Detective from the Clovis Police Department, Fresno Sheriff’s Office, California Highway Patrol, and a DMV Investigator, located a stolen vehicle near Clovis/Alluvial. Detectives followed the vehicle to the area of N. Minnewawa Ave./Teague Ave., where five suspects were eventually arrested. During the investigation, two stolen vehicles were recovered along with various stolen property that has been returned to the owners, and an illegal firearm was also recovered. The H.E.A.T. Task Force used video surveillance and other information to solve two vehicles burglaries, a residential burglary, and several thefts from unlocked vehicles.
The suspects arrested were 23 year-old Shon Walker, 18 year-old Elissa Mello, 20 year-old Daniel Stefanson, 26 year-old Mike Lewis, and 21 year-old Joseph Brummett. Charges included possession of stolen property, stolen vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, possession of burglary tools, and warrants. All suspects were booked into Fresno County Jail.
The Clovis Police Department commends the H.E.A.T. Task Force for their hard-work, and reminds residents to lock their vehicles, never keep any property in parked vehicles, and always call law enforcement when seeing something suspicious.

Friday, May 18, 2018, 84 year-old Gloria Lombardi left her home near N. Winery
Ave./E. Olive Ave. in Fresno. She stopped by Toyota of Clovis near W. Shaw
Ave./Freeway 168 in Clovis at about 11:45 A.M., and left in her gold 2006
Toyota Avalon. Lombardi was supposed to drive to the area of W. Alluvial
Ave./N. Fresno Ave. in Fresno, however she never made it there.
is described as a white female adult, 84 years-old, 5’0, 130 lbs, gray hair,
and blue eyes. It is unknown what clothes she was wearing, but she was driving
her gold 2006 Toyota Avalon, California license plate 5PCS922.

A one-day multi-agency operation occurred May 2, 2018 in Clovis involving thirteen law enforcement agencies. Approximately 75 Officers worked together to complete probation and parole searches, traffic stops, and other proactive work throughout Clovis and the surrounding area. Arrests were made for a variety of felonies and misdemeanors such as probation/parole violations, narcotic sales/transportation, firearms possession, and traffic offenses. Gang members were also contacted during the operation.
