City of Clovis Announces Public Workshop for Active Transportation Plan

The City of Clovis invites members of the public to help create a new Active Transportation Plan during a public workshop on October 27, 2015. The plan will create a vision for ongoing development of bicycle and pedestrian facilities that create a safe, comfortable, and connected community for walking and bicycling. Clovis already has a solid foundation of investment in active transportation through the City’s Bicycle Transportation Master Plan and existing bikeway and paseo network. The Active Transportation Plan will update and expand the Bicycle Transportation Master Plan to include pedestrians. It will allow Clovis to continue to create great walking and bicycling opportunities for its citizens and encourage more of them to move around our city on foot and bike.

The workshop will be held at Century Elementary School on Tuesday, October 27th, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. It will feature a short overview of the project followed by an open house for residents and city staff to collaborate on the plan by identifying needs and priorities, and it will provide an opportunity to discuss what can encourage more of our community to walk and bike.

To learn more about the Active Transportation plan, please visit the project website at www.ci.clovis.ca.us/atp. The website provides the latest information on the project and features an interactive map where users can provide input.
