Clovis Police Arrest Subject Following Assault with Knife

On 6/8/17 at approximately 11:06AM, Clovis Police received a call of a domestic disturbance with a kitchen knife involved in the area of Shaw/Minnewawa. Officers arrived on scene quickly and set a perimeter after witnesses reported that the male suspect ran from the scene, with the knife. Clovis PD Officer Drum responded with K9 Jax, to begin a search of the area. The Fresno Police Department also assisted with their helicopter. K9 announcements were done via the helicopter’s loud speaker. About ten minutes later, the suspect came out of hiding and surrendered to officers without further incident. When asked why the suspect surrendered, he responded “because of your dog”. This was K9 Jax’s first search and arrest!

34 year-old Raymond Daniels is currently being booked on multiple felonies. The female victim sustained visible injuries but refused medical aid. Officers are still in the area searching for the kitchen knife.
