The Clovis Police Department is very excited to announce that we have partnered with the Pink Patch Project! The PPP is a collaborative effort between the Los Angeles County Police Chiefs Association and public safety agencies from across the nation to combat breast cancer by raising public awareness and by raising funds for breast cancer education, research, and treatment. To date, over 180 agencies in the United States have joined, and Clovis Police is the first in California’s Central Valley!
The program centers on vibrant pink versions of the agency’s patches that are specially designed for the PPP campaign for October, which is “National Breast Cancer Awareness Month”. Clovis Police Officers and staff will be wearing a pin on their uniforms and professional attire during the month of October to encourage public awareness. As part of this program, Clovis Police will be selling the commemorative pink patches to the community! 100% of the proceeds will go directly to fund breast cancer education, research, and treatment. In 2016, the 82 agencies with the PPP raised more than $320,000 for cancer research organizations nationwide, and Clovis Police hopes to help increase that amount this year!
Our pink patches will first be available for purchase at the 7th Annual Clovis Night Out on Saturday, September 23, 2017. Clovis Night Out will be held at Sierra Meadows Park once again, and starts at 4PM. Patches are $10 each and will be available by cash or check. The remaining supply of patches will be sold at the Records window in the lobby of our police station beginning on Monday, September 25! Records hours are Monday-Friday, 8am-3pm. Checks can be payable to “Clovis Police Foundation”. If you live out of the area and are interested in purchasing a pink patch to support this great cause, please contact Cori Lesmerises at (559) 324-2558 or CoriL@cityofclovis.com!
